The powertrain, also used in the GR Yaris, has been further developed and modified, now delivering a heady 221kW at 6,500rpm and 360Nm from 3,000-5,550rpm. The high-performance turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder petrol engine at the heart of the GR Corolla was developed using Toyota’s extensive motorsport expertise. Overall, the GR Corolla measures 35mm longer than the normal hatch, with a 10mm increase at the front and 25mm at the rear, and its height has been reduced by 10mm thanks to a sports suspension.
